Primary colours

This is Eliott's first exploration of colours. With a rainy bank holiday weekend ahead we thought it would be fun to introduce a different primary colour each day and let Eliott play with paint. We started with red, on Saturday. I applied some paint on Eliott's hand but he didn't like it, tried to eat some and then tried to run away. As a result, there was red paint everywhere in the kitchen, on Eliott's clothes and face but little of his own painting on the paper. Much of the prints are ours, trying to encourage him.
The day after, we used blue paint, gave him a brush and half a potato and showed him how to use them. This time, he seemed a bit more interested in the process but very quickly he tried to eat the brush and lick his fingers.
On Monday, we introduced yellow paint. I gave him a brush and he immediately dipped it in the paint and applied it on the paper, repeating the operation several times by himself. This is why I like the yellow painting so much.
